Friends of Springboard and Fundraising

‘Friends' is a committed group of parents and ex-Springboard parents and supporters led by Yvonne Kingston, who raise funds for us by organising various fun events and activities. Recent events include: Sponsored Swim and Quiz Night. They arrange a fabulous bi-annual Springboard Ball, next one in 2008.

Christmas is a very busy time for activities such as plum pudding sales and Springboard Christmas cards, shopping evening to name but a few. They also attract other funders to Springboard by the work they carry out in the local community as well as promoting special needs issues in general.

‘Friends' play a huge part in our ability to keep our valuable work going and monies raised by them contribute significantly to our running costs. We would find it difficult to continue without their considerable support.

News of previous events:

• Fashion Show - this was held in October last year and raised a magnificent £4,000. It was held at Cadbury House, with both Robert John Hair Salons and Beautiful Fashions of Nailsea making all of the volunteer models look gorgeous. Many thanks to everyone who helped, especially Yvonne, Kath and Sarah.
• Quiz Night - this event in November raised £150.
• Santa and his famous Santettes - raised £459 and cheered up the folk in the pubs around Clevedon.
• Jacqueline Fox School of Dance - £4,000 was generously donated to Springboard, the proceeds of their show at The Playhouse in Weston.
• Grove Pre School - £83, the proceeds of their Christmas concert was also given to Springboard and was a most welcome donation.

• Pill memorial Club held a Rock 'n' Roll Evening and raffle and raised a marvellous £412.
• Nailsea Churches Football Club held a Six a Side tournament and raised a fantastic £910.52 for Springboard.
• The Health Club in Clevedon held a fun run and the final figure will be over £1,000.
• Bristol & Clifton Golf Club once again chose Springboard as their charity and we recived £685 from the Captain's Day. Paul Mitchell also organised a golf tournament at Bristol & Clifton and raised a further £960.

Thanks to all of the organisers and supporters of the above events. These are just a few examples of the many people and organisations who generously support Springboard, your help is greatly apprecaited.
